Hamilton-Garrett Music & Arts Academy
The Academy offers private lesson instruction in piano, voice, guitar, percussion, and violin, as well as classes in music theory, history, Black identity and experience, and more. We also host music clinics and workshops through our Visiting Artist Series.
Program Offerings
PRIVATE LESSONS
Students ages 5 to 18 have the opportunity to study with highly trained, passionate teachers in 30-minute weekly private lessons. Current instrument offerings include piano, voice, guitar, percussion, and violin. Most students learn two instruments at a time, but we also offer a single-instrument package at a discounted price.
Academy I (Grades K-4)
Provides general instruction in the fundamentals of music, focusing on the Black musical tradition.
Academy II (Grades 5-8)
Provides continued instruction in musical fundamentals, along with audition preparation for high school programs in music and the arts.
Academy III (Grades 9-12)
Provides advanced instruction in music, including electives such as music technology, production, and leadership. Youth will learn first-hand, what is necessary to develop careers in music.
