The Remembering 1619 project celebrates the resilience and contributions of African Americans and its artistry over the past 400 years.
Filmed in November 2019, this work consists of four movement and features and celebrates African American artists and religious thought-leaders throughout Greater Boston. Together, through the mediums of visual and performing arts, we retold the stories of our enslaved ancestors as a way to reclaim our history for the generations to come.
This is an ongoing creative project at the Hamilton-Garrett Music & Arts, with this video serving as one part of a larger work.
