Hamilton-Garrett Music and Arts Academy

Hamilton-Garrett Music and Arts Academy is an after-school program, affiliated with the Historic Charles Street A.M.E Church in Roxbury, Massachusetts, that is committed to the development of the next generation of innovative artists through formal music instruction of Black cultural music.

What We Offer

  • Private lesson instruction in piano, voice, guitar, percussion and string instruments

  • Music Theory and Musicianship

  • Music Clinics/Workshops (instructed by world-renowned artists)

  • Performance Ensembles

  • Choral Studies

  • Student Recitals and Performances

Academy I (Grades K-4)

Provides general instruction in the fundamentals of music, focusing on the Black musical tradition.

Academy II (Grades 5-8)

Provides continued instruction in musical fundamentals, along with audition preparation for high school programs in music and the arts.

Academy III (Grades 9-12)

Provides advanced instruction in music, including electives such as music technology, production, and leadership, giving youth the first-hand experience necessary to develop careers in music.

Tuition for the Hamilton-Garrett Music and Arts Academy is $250/per semester (semester I September- January,

 semester II February- June)
