Gerami Groover is a musician, producer, educator, Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders Reciprocal Exchange Fellow, founder of Gerami Groover Presents inc., and Executive Director of the Hamilton-Garrett Center for Performing Arts.

Groover began her musical journey as one of the charter students of the Ruth Hamilton-Elta Garrett Music and Arts Academy. Her studies at the Hamilton-Garrett provided her with a strong musical foundation, which later prepared her for acceptance into the Boston Arts Academy, Boston’s only school for the performing and creative arts. At Boston Arts Academy (BAA), she excelled as the first female pianist accepted into the school and in 2008 her senior year at BAA, Groover was awarded and received funding for her grant Save The Music, a grant that provided full tuition scholarships to three students from the Martin Luther King K-8 School in Dorchester, MA to attend the Hamilton-Garrett Music and Arts Academy.

Groover continued to advance in her musicianship by matriculating to the esteemed Berklee College of Music, where she received both her Bachelors and Masters degrees in music. It was during her studies at Berklee College of Music where she began to work heavily in a multitude of musical genres, working as an assistant producer, composer and music director for many of Berklee's Concert series. Gerami has shared the stage and gained the likes of many musical giants such as Brazil's finest Ivan Lins, Luis Enrique " El Principe de la Salsa ", Cuba's legendary pianist/composer Chucho Valdes and Patrice Rushen, just to name a few.

Gerami is a firm believer in the power of music and arts education and is always allowing herself time to give back to the current and preceding generations of youth. For a few years, she has traveled and worked tirelessly to provide excellent music and arts education programs to the youth in the Dominican Republic, Swaziland, and in the USA. She is excited to serve as the Executive Director of Hamilton-Garrett Music and Arts Academy and looks forward to providing enriching musical opportunities to our students through music and other forms of performing and visual arts.
